City of Ennis
The City of Ennis is located about 30 miles south of Dallas on Interstate 45 in Ellis County. The approximate population is 20,000 residents. Ennis is home to several industries including Lowe’s, CVS, National Envelope, Polyguard, and Sterilite. The city is also served by Ennis Independent School District which currently has two early education centers, four elementary school campuses, two middle schools, a junior high and high school.
Ennis is home to the National Polka Festival and the Official Bluebonnet Trails of Texas. Each year, 30,000 people from all over the world descend upon Ennis on Memorial Day weekend to celebrate the National Polka Festival.
In the fall, the Texas Motorplex hosts the fall nationals, bringing tens of thousands of others to our city, as well.
