Education — it’s not a business

One of my favorite pieces of wisdom from Sir Winston Churchill is: “It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried.”

That observation was made in response to grumblings about the perceived messiness of the democratic process. With just a little twist, that same observation has some relevance for American (and Texas) education as we work through some incredibly messy problems.
