School safety paramount to EISD

In the extensive news coverage of the tragic shootings in Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., a phrase has been used by several reporters:
“Parents shouldn’t have to bury their own children.”
While that statement is so wrenchingly true, it is also true that little kids everywhere shouldn’t have to worry about their safety in places like schools, shopping malls, churches and movie theaters.
