<p>Two were injured in a crash shortly after sun-up this morning on Lake Bardwell Drive near the U.S. 287 Bypass.</p>
<p>Ennis Police Department patrol officer Ross Jones said the incident occurred when a passenger car ran a stop sign headed north off of the bypass and ran under the trailer of an 18-wheeler headed east.</p>

<p>One allegedly drunken Ennis man chose the wrong street to walk down Sunday night.</p>
<p>Lt. Mike Hopson of the Ennis Police Department said Officer Lance Watson responded to a possible fight at approximately 3:47 a.m. Sunday morning. Watson eventually followed and pulled over a suspect vehicle near the corner of Burnett and Hall streets.</p>

<p>Police arrested a 24-year-old Garrett man after a weeklong investigation into an alleged assault occurring on Memorial Day.</p>
<p>Garrett Police Chief Bill Turnage confirmed Monday that officers arrested Frank Darrell Fones pending charges of assault causing bodily injury, family violence.</p>
<p>The charges stem from an alleged incident occurring at approximately 12:15 p.m. Memorial Day, when he is said to have violated a protective order and went to his girlfriend’s home in the 400 block of Nash Street.</p>

<p>A Ferris man accused of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon agreed to a plea bargain in May for deferred adjudication, a fine and 30 days behind bars.</p>
<p>Matthew Culbertson, 26, was jailed last April after a disturbance in the 100 block of Askew Road in Ferris. JoAnn Livingston, Ellis County Sheriff’s Office spokesman, said deputies responded to a call at 7 a.m. April 13, 2012, and spoke to a female complainant who reported Culbertson had threatened her and another woman with a club.</p>

<p>Ennis police hauled a man out of a burned-out house on N. Kaufman Street on Friday after he apparently hid out from authorities in an attic crawl space.</p>
<p>Eric McDonald, 36, allegedly fled police after a reported assault in the area of E. Denton Street, said Lt. Mike Hopson. Witnesses reported spotting the man after his flight several blocks away at the small residence at 1506 N. Kaufman St.</p>

<p>An Abilene man on his way to Wayne McCollum Detenction?Center last week reportedly learned the hard way what Ennis police  will do to ensure suspects don’t get away.</p>
<p>According to Ennis Police Department records, 56-year-old William Lewis of Abilene fled police custody during a routine prisoner transfer at the Ennis Police Department on Thursday afternoon.</p>

<p>A Ferris man has been indicted on two charges stemming from an alleged assault against a peace officer and EMS worker in late March.</p>
<p>Alberto Reyes, 26, was jailed March 31 after Ferris police intervened in an incident that began in Red Oak. Chief Sam Love of the Ferris Police Department said a call came in that evening from a woman who reported a car had followed her from Red Oak to Ferris.</p>

<p>Ennis police officers patrolling Interstate 45 arrested a man after he sped 25 miles over the posted speed limit and seemingly refused to stop.</p>
<p>Lt. Mike Hopson of the Ennis Police Department said Officer Chad Bolton was driving northbound on Interstate 45 on Tuesday night when a silver four-door car passed him traveling at 90 miles per hour.</p>

<p>Law enforcement officials arrested one man who allegedly fled from a three-vehicle crash that briefly closed the Lake Bardwell bridge on Sunday.</p>
<p>Miguel Beruman, 33, of Lancaster was arrested pending misdemeanor charges of failing to identify as a fugitive and fleeing police, said Ellis County Sheriff’s spokesperson JoAnn Livingston.</p>
<p>Bonds were set at $1,000 and $2,500 respectively.</p>
