The Ennis Lions (14-0, 7-0, 15-4A) and Aledo Bearcats (14-0, 7-0, 7-4A) are set to go head-to-head Saturday afternoon in the Class 4A Division II semi-final round of the playoffs. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Midlothian Stadium.

The Ennis Lions (12-0, 7-0, 15-4A) are one step further into the 4A Division II playoffs after last Friday’s 64-13 blowout over Lucas Lovejoy in the area round of the playoffs. The Lions spent Tuesday morning practicing at an indoor field in Forney in preparation for Friday’s regional game against the Frisco Raccoons (9-3, 5-2, 13-4A).

The Ennis Lions defense dominated Lucas Lovejoy at Lumpkins Stadium in Waxahachie on Friday, clearing the way for a startling offensive effort for a second-round playoff game. Ennis topped Lucas 64-13 and is headed for AT&T Stadium on Friday.

The Ennis Lions (12-0, 7-0, 15-4A) ran clear over the Lucas Lovejoy Leopards (8-4, 5-2, 13-4A) Friday night to snatch a 64-13 victory in the Class 4A Division II area playoffs.

Lions take down Eagles in Round 1

The Ennis Lions (11-0, 15-4A) annihilated the Lindale Eagles (3-8, 16-4A) Friday night in the bi-district round of the playoffs. The 62-17 slaughter ended Lindale’s playoff run and the Lions advance to the area round next weekend.

Lions eviscerate Indians 61-28

The 61-28 win carries the Lions’ record to 10-0 for the regular season, and they head to the playoffs on Nov. 15. Dona Thompson caught three receptions for 46 yards and two touchdowns during the Battle of 287.

The Ennis Lions (10-0, 7-0) accomplished a goal Friday night that only a few teams have achieved in Ennis history. They went undefeated for the entire regular season after demolishing the Waxahachie Indians (3-7, 1-6) 61-28 in the Battle of 287 for the final game of the regular season.
