The top American League and National League teams in the Junior Midget League played the first of a best-of-three game city championship series Monday night. Undefeated Bubba’s Bar-B-Q (15-0) put the American League at a one game advantage after a 20-3 victory over Heli-Hunters (12-3).
PTL Construction (9-7) and Sign Plex (11-6) battled Friday night for the 8U Softball League championship. SP defeated PTL 12-1 in game one to force a tie-breaker game shortly afterward. PTL turned the tables on SP with a 10-5 victory to walk away with the championship.
Sign Plex (10-5) and American Legion Auxiliary (8-7) faced one another Thursday to determine who would advance to the final round of the 8U Softball League playoffs today and advance to the district championships in July.
Defending state champions and current league second place American Legion (8-5-1) took to the field Wednesday night to play their second playoff game against third place Ferguson Electric (6-7-1) in the Junior Boys League.
Fourth place Holiday Inn Express (5-9) and third place Heater’s Bullpen (6-8) faced off Tuesday night after both teams lost their first Freshman Softball League playoff games on Monday.
Ennis Black Belt Academy (10-1-2) proved Monday night why they were ranked first in the Senior Midget League during the regular season. EBBA blanked fourth place KJT Hall (6-6-1) 13-0 during the first playoff game.
Lone Star Flooring (12-0) had a big night Friday evening as the team showcased their dominance in the Junior HSE Softball League. LSF defeated Buna Bean (3-9) 13-1 to close out an impressive and well-deserved undefeated regular season.
Ennis State Bank and Family First Hospice played their second to last Senior Midget League game of the regular season on Tuesday night.
As Ennis continues to get back to a level of normalcy after a weekend of severe weather, little league baseball continued Monday night at Bluebonnet Park.

The Ennis Lions 9U team has won the Texas State Youth Championship for the second year in a row.
American Legion made Ennis Little League history Thursday evening by becoming the first Ennis team to win a TTAB state championship. The junior boys’ league team defeated the Brownwood Lions 6-5 to win the title.

Ennis Sonic had to fight for its 8U TTAS state tourney life on Wednesday night in Mabank, and the red team seemed to have all the answers in the early ballgame.
Noon Lions softball came into Tuesday afternoon’s TTAS junior state tourney game in Mildred facing a must-win situation, and the Ennis squad was up to the challenge.
When TTAS 8U state tournament play got rolling on Monday in Mabank, the Ennis Sonic squad was ready to roll.
