The Ennis Lions (2-4-1) freshmen maroon team battled the Red Oak Hawks Thursday night and maintained a 16-0 lead until late in the third quarter. The Lions defended their home field to claim a 16-8 victory.

/ The Ennis Lions have been preparing all week to face the Red Oak Hawks on Friday. Statistically, the Lions are the dominant team, but Lion Coach Jack Alvarez stresses never underestimating a rivalry like Ennis and Red Oak.

The Ennis Lions (5-0, 2-0) will take to the field Friday night to face the Red Oak Hawks (3-2, 1-1) who at first glance do not appear to be as strong of a team as last season. However, Lion head coach Jack Alvarez knows all bets are off when these two rivals take to the field.

The Ennis Lions tennis team (8-6, 5-0 in district )went to Waxahachie Tuesday night and clinched the district title on the opposing court, crushing the Indians 18-1. For the fourth consecutive year, the Lions took the district crown with a perfect district record.

Lions volleyball beats Lancaster in five games

The Ennis Lions (8-13, 2-6) played out five sets to claim a much needed 3-2 victory over the Lancaster Tigers Tuesday after falling in three sets to the Mansfield Lake Ridge Eagles Friday night. The Lions last defeated the Tigers in three sets during the district opener in September.
