Lady Lions fall 9-2 to Lovejoy

The Ennis Lady Lions didn’t hit one ball past the infield Thursday night, losing to the Lovejoy Lady Leopards 9-2 and find themselves playing tonight for their playoff lives.

The season came to a close for the Ennis Lions baseball team (15-14, 7-8) Saturday afternoon. After falling 6-3 to Seguin on Friday, the Lions were set to face the Red Oak Hawks (18-12, 8-7) on Saturday for a tie-breaker to determine who would clinch the fourth place district finish and head into the playoffs.

Lady Lions rally for 13-5 victory

Despite allowing two multiple-run home runs early in the game, the Ennis Lady Lions held on to triumph over the Jacksonville Maidens 13-5 and clinch the bi-district championship Friday.

Lions blank Lancaster 11-0

Good Friday proved to be a very good Friday for the Ennis Lions. While most other schools in the district played their baseball games on Thursday, the Lions (15-11, 7-5) and Lancaster Tigers (0-12) went head to head on Friday with the Lions blanking the Tigers 11-0 in five innings.
