Schools closed for holiday

Ennis ISD schools will be closed for the Martin Luther King Day holiday on Monday, Jan. 20. Classes will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 21.

Flapjack Fever coming to Lummus

Reception slated for super

The Ennis ISD School Board plans to welcome the district’s new superintendent at a public reception scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Jan. 6 at the Ennis National Bank Event Center. The board will meet at 6 p.m. to officially name John Chapman as the new Ennis ISD Superintendent.

City closure set on New Year’s

The offices of the city of Ennis will be closed for the New Year’s holiday on Jan. 1. Garbage collection routes will not run that day. Regular office hours and regular garbage collection will resume Jan. 2.

News office shut for holiday

The Ennis Daily News will print one edition for Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, 2014 that will be distributed Tuesday. The office will be closed for the holiday Wednesday and will reopen at 8 a.m. Thursday.

Sunbeamers set to begin new year of activity

The Sunbeam Club will begin a new year of great fellowship and the sharing of railroad memories on Tuesday, Jan. 7. The whistle will blow at 11:30 a.m. for railroaders, their families and friends and anyone else who loves a train at the Ennis IHOP.

EDN closing for holiday

The offices of the Ennis Daily News will close at noon Tuesday, Dec. 24 in observance of Christmas, and reopen at 8 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 26. The newspaper will print one edition for Tuesday and Wednesday.
