Alma VFD fundraiser

Lionette squat tryouts begin

Those hoping for a spot on the EHS Lionette squad will begin tryouts on April 15 from 4:15 to 6 p.m. at the Ennis High School dance studio. Tryouts continue throughout the week.

Unity organizes elder law presentation

Unity in the Community will present information, on elder law, probate and estate planning from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 13 at the Ennis Housing Community Room located at 303 W. Arnold St. Janet Shafer Boyanton will be the speaker.

Bank sets document destruction day

Ennis State Bank will have their annual Shred Day on April 13 in the main bank parking lot. There will be a shred truck available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for any documents needing to be shredded. This event is free and open to the public.

Lionette Spring Show slated this month

The Ennis High School Lionettes “Past, Present and Future” Spring show is set for 7 p.m. Saturday, April 13 at the EHS Auditorium. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children and seniors. There will be several performances including one by seven Lionette alumni and a vocal performance by Mollie Slovacek.

Silver Citizens luncheon on tap

Unity in the Community will host its Silver Citizens Saturday Luncheon at 10 a.m. April 13 at the Ennis Housing Authority Community Center at 300 E. Arnold. ESB offers scholarship

Ennis State Bank is currently accepting applications for their two scholarships. Every year the bank awards a $20,000 and $2,500 scholarship to qualified Ennis High School seniors. Waxahachie’s Old Fashioned Singing Project will present their 2013 show “Heaven’s Front Porch” on March 22-23, 7 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Historic Chautauqua Auditorium in Waxahachie. Baylor Baptist to host benefit carnival fundraiser

Baylor Baptist Church will host a carnival fundraiser benefiting the Epilepsy Foundation of Fort Worth from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 16 at the church gym located at 210 N. Preston. There will be food, face painting, carnival games and more. Everyone welcome.
