Breast cancer support group to meet

A breast cancer support group is set at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at Quality Inn in Ennis. For more information, call 214-478-2150.

Garrett RVFD plans annual fish fry

The Garrett Rural Volunteer Fire Department will hold its 11th annual fish fry from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 29 at the Knights of Columbus Hall. There will be a live and silent auction as well. $10 a plate for adults, $7 for children under 12.

Bowie will host annual Spaghetti supper

Bowie Elementary will host its annual Spaghetti Supper fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 23. Funds go toward field trips, nine-weeks awards, special events for each grade, AR shopping, monthly teacher appreciation gifts and school improvements.

EISD Spring Break release dates

Ennis ISD will close March 11 to March 15 for the spring holiday.

SPJST will host benefit for Kaitlyn Moore

The SPJST will host a benefit for Kaitlyn Moore starting 5 p.m. Saturday, March 9. Benefits will go to help Moore’s family with costs surrounding Kaitlyn’s medical treatment. Sunbeamers to meet March 5

The Sunbeam Club will meet at the Ennis IHOP at 11:30 a.m Tuesday, March 5 for food, fun, fellowship and continuing planning for the April reunion. This gathering is for all railroaders who are retired or active, their families and friends and anyone who loves a train.

Ribbon cutting set Tuesday

The Ennis Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting ceremony at Silverton Village at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26. Silverton Village is located at 3700 E. Highway 85.

EHS will host Daddy/ Daughter Dance

Ennis High School will host the National Honor Society Daddy/Daughter Dance from 7 to 9 pm. At the EHS Bardwell Commons.

Ennis leaders to travel to Austin

Leadership Ennis will travel to Austin to meet with state legislators on Thursday, Feb. 21. The delegation will leave from the Ennis Chamber of Commerce at 6 a.m. Call 972-878-2625 for a registration form.

EPT production continues

Lend a hand to Helping Hands

The Helping Hands of Ennis outreach group is looking for donations for its school uniform program. Requested are gently used boys and girls 7 and 8 uniform pants. Uniform clothing is provided to students at no charge.

Knights to host Casino Night

The Knights of Columbus will host a Casino Night fundraiser on Feb. 16 at the Knights of Columbus Hall to raise money to support various needs, such as helping families in need, college scholarships, supporting the Special Olympics and more. Sterling House will host a Valentine’s Day celebration from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14. Drinks and desserts will be provided.
