Fast flu shots available

Ennis Regional Medical Center is offering a drive-through flu shot clinic from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15 at the hospital parking lot. The cost is $20, cash only, ages 18-64. Seniors 65 and older are free. For more information, call 1-855-875-3762.

9/11 luncheon planned

VFW Post 7106 will host its annual 9/11 luncheon from noon to 3 p.m. Sept. 11 at the post, located at 3100 N. I-45 Service Road in Ennis. All law enforcement, firefighters, paramedics and their families are encouraged to attend.

Blood drive set

Ennis Masonic Lodge No. 369 has set a blood drive from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14. The Carter BloodCare drive bus will be in the Walmart parking lot.

City tax rate hearing slated

The Ennis City Commission has set a public hearing on the tax rate for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10 at City Hall, located at 115 W. Brown St. The rate of $0.695 per $100 of property value is unchanged from the 2012-2013 rate.

The Ennis Public Library’s 2013 Summer Reading Program is held at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesdays and 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Thursdays. Farmers Market open

The Corsicana Farmers Market is now open for its 29th season.  The market is open Tuesday and Saturday mornings from 7 a.m. until noon or sell out. The 2013 season ends Saturday, Sept. 28. The 14-stall framed shed is located at Business Interstate 45 and Sixth Street in Corsicana.
