Avalon ISD plans April 12th Kindergarten Round-Up
Avalon ISD will hold its pre-kindergarten and kindergarten round-up for children ages 3-5 years old on April 12, 2013. Children must be in one of these age groups by September 1st to be eligible for the next school year. Each child’s hearing and vision will be checked. Parents need to bring immunization records, birth certificates and social security cards to the roundup. In order for the school to plan properly for the next year, it is important that all eligible children attend the round-up. We will also be filling out pre-enrollment paperwork necessary for your child to enter the next school year. If your child has attended roundup prior to this year, it is still important that you notify the school if your child will be attending Avalon school next year. A scheduled time will be arranged for every child. Parents need to contact the school as soon as possible to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins will be accepted only if time permits. Roundup hours will be from 8:30-3:00pm. If your child does not qualify for the program, then they will be put on a waiting list. Qualifications apply only to pre-kindergarten program and not to kindergarten. Anyone who has a child or who knows of a child in the 3-5 years age group is asked to contact the school prior to April 12th. Children who reside outside the school district boundaries will be placed on a waiting list. For more information about the roundup, call Avalon ISD at 972-627-3251

The City of Ennis Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, March 25, 2013 at 7:15 PM (City Commissioner’s Chambers, 115 W.
