LEGAL NOTICE Construction Advertisement and Invitation for Bids The City of Bardwell will receive bids for 2012 Sanitary Sewer Improvements until 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 100 Planter’s Gin Road / P.O. Box 271, Bardwell, Texas 75101. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at that time. Bids are invited for several items and quantities of work as follows: 1. Provide and install 341 linear feet of 8-inch PVC sanitary sewer and appurtenances. 2. Provide and install one 12-inch mechanically cleaned strainer at the City’s wastewater treatment plant. Bid/Contract Documents, including Drawings and Technical Specifications are on file at Childress Engineers, 211 N. Ridgeway Dr., Cleburne, Texas 76033. Copies of the Bid/Contract Documents may be obtained by depositing $50 with Childress Engineers for each set of documents obtained. The deposit will be refunded if the documents and drawings are returned in good condition within 10 days following the bid opening. A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent (5%) of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Bardwell or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Texas Department of Rural Affairs and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, age or national origin. The City of Bardwell reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be help by Childress Engineers for a period not to exceed 30 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidders qualifications prior to the contract award.
