A thriving downtown can lift city


There is a good deal of merit in the considerations to turn our downtown into more of an active, inviting and prosperous area of the community.

It would be an injustice to say the administration in Ennis has been passive in the protection and development of its downtown — the historic designation was a pet project of current management decades ago, for example. There is more to be done today, however, than to dwell on what has or hasn’t happened in our downtown.
