Most of the elections this go-around were fairly esoteric for the average Ellis County resident.

The creation of the State Water Implementation Fund is important for the future, of course, and it’s wonderful that our veterans and their families are getting well-earned tax breaks. The citizens of Palmer, however, had a much more pressing local concern to deal with on the ballot.

By an narrow margin, the citizens of Palmer voter to approve the sale of $15.2 million in bonds to fund the construction of a new elementary school.
