A year without progress
This week is replete with bad anniversaries but few as fresh and meaningful as the one year anniversary of the West explosion.
I was already in a state of shock and anger over the bombing of the Boston Marathon earlier in the week. I remember sitting on my couch reading more news about the horror out of Boston when I heard a loud, low concussion and my windows shook.
In the span of a few seconds 15 lives were lost and a community was shattered.
So where do we stand, one year later? Unfortunately, no further away from another disaster somewhere else.
