ADA’s killing demands swift justice
It is with heavy sadness and shock that we reported the death of Kaufman County Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse on Thursday.
We didn’t know his name when our paper went to the press, but we knew he’d been gunned down in what seemed at first glance like a frustratingly premeditated incident outside the county courthouse in the small city of Kaufman. It happened too quickly, with too much confusion for local authorities, to have not been carefully outlined and executed.
