Broadcasts will give back openness


When the Ellis County Commissioners Court agreed to contract out meeting broadcasts, we thought it was a decision that was a long time coming.

If you remember, the county moved this year to change its meeting times in the wake of one of the more horrific assaults on public servants in recent memory in the state of Texas. After the murder of a Kaufman County assistant district attorney, as well as the follow-up killing of the district attorney and his wife, the county acted.
