Case a reminder of basic right
Since our nation’s inception, the presumption of innocence has been the foundation of our justice system.
As a result, many of the rules in court favor the defendant. This sounds counterintuitive because a person who may be innocent is forced to face a trial to defend that innocence. This presumption is not required of the public, though there are laws against slander. We all have opinions of those who are arrested.
