City of Ennis jumps into action


Seeing the city jump into action when the public becomes exposed to potential health risks is reassuring.

While the jury is still out on how much negative impact airborne insecticide used to control the mosquito population truly has, the city has to go with the science, so to speak, on spraying’s effectiveness in performing its task. When West Nile virus concerns sprung up in 2012, the effort to control the spread of the virus moved almost as quickly, and Ennis benefited from it considerably. There were no cases of West Nile in Ennis last season, with more than 20 reported within Ellis County and considerably more reported around Dallas-Fort Worth.
