Clearing up state error lightens view
A reporting error from state health officials went unnoticed last week as the county was shocked by untrue reports of West Nile deaths.
Those “deaths,” reported in a regular situation update on the illness from the Texas Department of State Health Services were the same two prior deaths already logged in Midlothian. The reporting glitch made the two prior deaths count twice, casting the untrue appearance of a spike in disease virulence over the beginning of September.
