Community will certainly remember
It is a distinctly sad moment when someone who is so active and involved in a community’s culture dies.
Rosie Steinman’s departure is such a moment. The Polka Festival regular and Czech heritage buff died Dec. 12, leaving in her absence a sadness that touches locals and area polka players alike. As we showed in the feature story in Wednesday’s edition, her influence and enthusiasm were a joy to everyone who really knew her, and her loss is one that is deeply felt by the community.
