Food program seems like a winning idea
The weekend food program being planned through the Ennis Independent School District shows us just one more way our community is an amazing place to live.
The need has been there for a long time, according to school administrators and the Mission Ennis: BridgeBuilders organization that have teamed up to make the project possible. Basically, food backpacks are going home with the district’s most needy children — those who organizers know aren’t getting enough food when they’re away from the school lunchroom.
