It’s a fine time to start considering how Ennis will back up its end of the bargain when it comes to the construction project to finish out the U.S. 287 Bypass.

The uninitiated observer may wonder why the work needs to be done. We’d point to years of car crashes and the inconvenience of the two-lane roadway’s multiple stops and slowdowns as both serious safety issues and limiting factors on local economic growth.
