Sanctions by NCAA hard to ignore
If Monday’s action against Penn State University taught the NCAA sports world anything, it’s that the member organization is imposing a stringent standard of ethics on its constituents that goes beyond just playing well on the field.
The NCAA all but leveled the Nittany Lions team for years to come. It hit Penn State with a $60 million sanction, a four-year football postseason ban and a vacation of all wins dating to 1998. All of the hits come signed, sealed and delivered on the back of the Penn State child rape scandal that rocked the nation.
