Stable tax rates help keep city attractive
The expectation of stable property tax rates for the Ennis municipal government and school district is welcome news to all of us.
The Ennis Daily News is not strictly philosophically opposed to increases in the ad valorem tax rate. We weigh the decision based on the circumstances at hand, looking for the greatest good before we discuss the issue. In this scenario, where the economy is slowly struggling its way back to a more active kind of life in this area, keeping rates steady is almost certainly the way to go.
