United Way is struggling

We know it’s difficult to find the motivation and resources to give to every charitable outlet that opens up in the Ennis and Ellis County communities each year.

From September through December each year, the number of places where the financially flexible can put charitable donations is always astounding. But, need is a part of the human condition, and need for community services will always be a part of living in this country. Our government is one that allows such freedom that the determined and lucky can build up comfortable reserves, and that same freedom gives those less fortunate a chance to receive aid from those who can give it. The need seems to grow greater each year, and vocal members of this community always seem to find a way to make dollars stretch further, turn out more volunteers to make events and ideas possible and provide support where it is most needed.
