When is a poll tax not a poll tax?


Voter ID laws are a hot-button political issue, and in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision against the Voting Rights Act last week, they again became big topics in public circles.

Texas will require voters, henceforth, to have one of several kinds of photographic identification in order to legally cast a ballot in any election.
