Working together to help kids
There isn’t much the two parties agree on in Washington these days, but I recently found common ground with a bipartisan group of my colleagues.
What brought us together – the health and well being of kids! We worked together to write and introduce the Advancing Care for Exceptional Kids Act of 2014 – or ACE Kids Act. The title of the bill explains a lot about its purpose.
We are trying to advance care for some exceptional kids. This legislation focuses on improving care for children with medical complexities on Medicaid. Medically complex kids are those with one or more chronic conditions or a child who is treated by multiple specialists.
