Youth need lessons from our veterans

Of those who will take part in Veteran’s Day observances this year, students and youth of our community should not be overlooked. The lessons they have to learn from the sacrifices of men and women who came before them are too important to skip.

Every year, the spirit of service and sacrifice that has driven so many young men and women into the military are getting more clouded. The mistakes of the recent past have colored the perception of military service for some, overshadowing the great legacy left behind by prior generations’ sacrifices.
