Cornyn speaks on military tribunal
Bringing Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his co-conspirators here for civilian trials would have put American lives at risk, demonstrating little had been learned from that horrific day nearly 10 years ago.
The attacks of September 11 were an act of war, and the Administration needs to unconditionally abandon its irresponsible, pre-9/11 approach to terror.
It is shocking that it took nearly a year and a half of bipartisan opposition and the outcry of the American people to sway the Administration to reverse course, but I’m glad the President and Attorney General have changed their minds.
