Downtown is the priority here, not golf

Is the city of Ennis seriously considering spending $300,000, plus thousands more for an amenity (golf course or park) when the necessities of its downtown economic base are literally crumbling down?

If the city commission, mayor, city manager, and economic development commission/board were sincere about the economic survivability of Ennis, they would be steering its resources toward a paradigm shift away from the status quo and toward the 21st Century way of doing business.
