Conni Durbin, the former Place 7 trustee on the Ennis Independent School District board, has returned to serve in a spot left open by Pete Bibby, who resigned in June.

Bibby, a former board president and long-time board member, resigned frm the Place 5 seat for undisclosed personal reasons.

At a special called meeting of the EISD Board of Trustees on Wednesday, board members gave their OK for Durbin, a six-year incumbent defeated May 8, to take Bibby’s open Place 5 seat. New board member Bramlet Beard won the May 8 election by a nine-vote margin.
