Industrial park is a go
Now all the city needs is a tenant

City commissioners signed off on zoning and annexation ordinances that add a nearly 190-acre tract of land to Ennis’ industrial production and expansion territory holdings.
The tract, which abuts U.S. 287 to the north and runs along Interstate 45, has been on the agenda for two months, during which time commissioners have largely endorsed the project as a way to bring in additional industrial companies, which would in turn create a boost in local tax base through property and sales and use tax.
“Hopefully, this land will become a home for future facilities that will be good for the city of Ennis,” said Mayor Russell Thomas.3
