Local law enforcement agencies broke up an alcohol party on Thursday that was taking place at a barn on Whitfill Road in Alma, making arrests for violations regarding marijuana, prohibited weapon, evading, and drug paraphernalia. Ellis County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Dennis Brearly said several citations were also issued for minor consumption of alcohol.

Brearly said after Ennis police received several calls from parents stating they heard that a large party was going to involve alcohol and minors at the barn, officers of the sheriff’s department, Ennis Police Department and Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission sent undercover deputies to confirm there were underage persons drinking alcohol.

It was found that while identifying participants at the party, people were there from throughout Ellis County and as far away as Garland and Oklahoma.
