Motor caravan planned for veterans celebration

Local veterans organizations are trying to locate eastern Ellis County Veterans from Alma, Bardwell, Boyce, Bristol, Ennis, Ferris, Garrett, Palmer, Telico and all surrounding communities.
Their plan is to gather area veterans for a caravan trip to attend the upcoming Veterans Appreciation Day celebration scheduled Nov. 7 at the Civic Center in Waxahachie.
“A motor caravan trip is being planned for those veterans, their friends and families leaving Ennis and traveling to the Civic Center in Waxahachie via U.S. Highway 287 on the morning of the event,” said Marylyn Wylie, one of the committee organizers.
Getting veterans together from various branches of military service and conflicts is part of the effort.
