Lionbackers’ fundraiser supports EHS athletics
, Special to the EDN

In order to raise funds for Ennis Lion athletics, the Lionbackers Booster Club has begun selling address signs.
The signs are aluminum, and are placed on the curb outside of homes.
The left part of the sign has a white background with a maroon “E” Ennis logo. The right part of the sign has a maroon background with 4-inch white numerals. The Lionbackers are selling them for $20 each.
To raise money in the past, the Lionbackers have relied on the $100 per year Century Club memberships and proceeds from sales at the Lionbacker Hut at Ennis football games, said Gary Fincher, president of the Lionbackers booster club. This is the first year the group has added another fundraiser. After getting the OK from the city, the Lionbackers began selling their signs.
“We’ve talked to the city about it,” Fincher said. “They’re all on board, and (they) hope we get them all around town to help the fire and police department.”
