Ennis police discovered around $50,000 in allegedly stolen shingles at a store in northern Dallas on Wednesday.

Kris Salam, 46, of Carrollton, and Jose Torres, 34, of Dallas, were arrested and charged with theft greater than $20,000 in connection with the case.

Det. Sgt. Mike Hopson said police found Wednesday 23 palettes of shingles at Surplus Supply in Dallas that were suspected to be from Blazek Building Supply in Ennis and another 21 palettes allegedly stolen from Tucker Lumber Co. in Hillsboro.

Information from an arrest Monday night fueled the investigation, Hopson said. Dallas police have also recovered what they believe to be a stolen boat, Hopson said.
