Brandon Fox, the man who Ennis police believe kidnapped a 12-year-old boy with the intent to take him to Ohio, will have a chance to enter a plea in January.
An Ellis County grand jury has formally charged Fox, 24, of Ohio, with aggravated kidnapping and online solicitation of a minor in November. He is slated for formal arraignment at 9 a.m. Jan. 7 in 40th Judicial District Court.
The suspect, who allegedly traveled from his home in East Cleveland, Ohio, to Ennis at the end of September via bus, had no significant criminal history before the incident, according to police.
Fox was arrested Sept. 30 when adults reported seeing the 12-year-old male student walking with an older man on Clay Street. Det. Sgt. Mike Hopson, Ennis police spokesman, said parents reported the sighting on suspicion of danger.
