Travelling memorial wall to make 2010 appearance

The American Legion has donated the money, and a group of residents have begun the work to bring The Moving Wall, a traveling Vietnam War Memorial, to Ennis.
The current scheduled stop will occur over the Mother’s Day weekend in 2010, and is set to include a parade through town and other pomp.
Project chair Marylyn Wylie said the effort began matter-of-factly through a conversation with city inspector Buddy Markham.
“I called him on a real estate matter, and he said something to me about bringing the wall to Ennis,” Wylie said. “And he asked me to chair it. I figured ‘why not?’ I love the veterans.”
