EISD takes nominees for gifted program

f you believe there is a place for your child or a child you know in Ennis ISD’s Gifted and Talented program, now is the time to nominate them.
Nominations are under way and will continue until Jan. 15 for kindergarten students and until Jan. 29 for all other grades.
“If a parent or community member feels like their child may be gifted, they can nominate them, and that starts the screening process,” said Brian Fry, curriculum director for EISD.
After a child is nominated, they are then given a three-part screening, which includes an IQ test, an achievement test and rating form filled out by the child’s teacher. Each of these counts for an equal third in considering the child’s application, Fry said.
