The Ennis City Commission will soon apply for the cash necessary to replace heating and cooling units at the city’s public library.

On the agenda for the commission’s first meeting of the new year is the application approval for ARRA Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant funds to the tune of $58,000 in equipment costs for the project. The grant project has been a topic of some discussion for several months and involves a package of funds for cities that did not receive direct allocations for energy efficiency and conservation from the Department of Energy as federal stimulus.
