Ennis throws down gauntlet

The Ennis City Commission has put its foot down against a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ mandate to help fund stimulus-related work at Lake Bardwell.
Commissioners spoke with one voice on the issue Tuesday, with Mayor Pro-Tem Bob Taylor moving approval and Commissioner Tom Abram seconding a resolution pushing for answers.
Commissioners are looking for exemption from costs on the work, and failing that, a low-cost long-term funding plan, as well as a stop to all work at the lake until an agreement is reached.
