The 50-year-old man accused of charging a sheriff’s deputy with a knife on Monday has been charged with attempted capital murder and jailed on $500,000 bond.
Bradford Craig Randle allegedly approached the deputy during a traffic stop on FM 660 east of Palmer and outside the small eastern Ellis County community of Bristol without his weapon showing, said Lt. James Saulter, Department of Public Safety public information officer.
“When he got to the door of the deputy’s car, he pulled a knife and lunged, and the deputy fired a single shot,” Saulter said.
