Last week’s agreement between Ennis officials and Sysco Corporation has many in the community looking forward to what will come.
The historic land deal in the city’s Industrial Park has the food giant agreeing to build an $80 million redistribution facility on 255 acres purchased from the city.
Ennis Chamber of Commerce President Jeannette Patak said the development is exciting news for the chamber and praised the city and all those involved for bringing Sysco to the community.
“I feel excited about it and I think it will be a boost to the economy here and now hopefully some of the retail developers that have been looking at our community will see the need for more retail and restaurants with the addition of these jobs,” Patak said.
