The faculty, staff and students welcomed U.S. Congressman Joe Barton on Monday morning as he presented a new American flag to the school.

Austin Principal Denise Winnett said she requested a new flag from Barton to replace the one currently flying over the school, which she said is now in poor condition.

“We’re very excited to have him,” Winnett said. “It’s a very exciting day for our school.”
