The Ennis Convention and Visitors Bureau estimates this year’s bluebonnet peak will happen in the coming days.

The south trail, which covers the southeast areas outlying the city limits of Ennis, has sprung to life with a display that could be close in its coverage and color to the 2012 “Field of Dreams.” Mach Road, which houses the 100-acre field that sprang into a blanket of blue in 2012, is seeing regular visits from locals and tourists.
