Blue Devils squeak past Bulldogs

Tye Chandler, spo...@ennisdailynews.com

Facing a strong team on Wednesday night in Round Rock during the 2A state semis, the Palmer Bulldogs did a lot of things right and just barely missed out on the chance to play for all the marbles.

Palmer ended an improbable run to the state finals on Wednesday.

Palmer (22-13) led the Nacogdoches Central Heights Blue Devils (35-6) by a 3-0 margin heading into the bottom of the sixth inning, but the home team came up with some clutch offensive execution to rally back for a 4-3 victory in the seventh and earned the right to face Cameron Yoe in the final today.
