Board picks superintendent

The Ennis ISD School Board voted unanimously to select Dr. John Chapman to be the district’s lone finalist in the search for its new superintendent.

Chapman, the current superintendent of Comfort ISD north of San Antonio, was named the lone finalist out of 39 candidates initially considered by the board. Board President Bramlet Beard said Chapman was the best fit for the job because of his “history of success” at Comfort ISD, and his familiarity with the demographic makeup of Ennis.
