Boys and Girls Club features AgriLife event


The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service presented “Happy, Healthy Kids Day” at the Boys and Girls Club of Ennis on Monday. Extension Master Wellness volunteers and other community leaders came together to focus on teaching kids ‘happy and healthy’ habits. Approximately 100 youth and adults learned about MyPlate and nutrition, increasing physical activity, bullying prevention, flu prevention through proper handwashing/cleanliness, fire prevention and safety, proper hydration, tobacco and alcohol use prevention and water safety. Organizers and assistance included the Ellis County Master Wellness volunteers, Ellis County Sheriff’s Department, REACH Council, Texas Forest Service, Army Corp of Engineers, and the Ennis Boys & Girls Club.
